General

About the studio, the consultation and how to get started.

What does Jubilant Interior do?

We design and build residential interiors. One team handles the design, the materials and the on-site work, from the first sketch to the day you move in.

Which cities do you work in?

We currently take projects across Pune and Mumbai. If you are elsewhere, send us a message and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. Tell us about your home, your needs and your budget, and we will talk it through. The consultation is free.

How do I get an estimate?

After the consultation we visit the site to measure and assess the space. You then receive a clear, itemised estimate before any work begins, with no hidden costs.

Can you take care of the whole home, including civil and electrical work?

Yes. Our turnkey service covers design, materials, execution and handover under one contract. Wall changes, flooring, plumbing and rewiring are handled by our own site team.

Can I buy only a kitchen or a wardrobe, not the whole home?

Yes. You can book a single service such as a modular kitchen, wardrobes, a false ceiling or a living room, or hand us the whole home.

Do the photos on the site show your projects?

No. The images on this website are for inspiration and illustration, chosen to show styles and ideas. They are not our completed projects.

Will I see the design before work starts?

Yes. We prepare layouts and a 3D view, and you choose finishes, colours and materials, before production begins.

Pricing and packages

Starting prices, what is included and how estimates work.

What does “starting from” mean?

It is the lowest price for that tier at a standard carpet area: about 450 sq ft for 1 BHK, 700 sq ft for 2 BHK and 1,000 sq ft for 3 BHK. Your home may be larger or smaller, so the figure moves with the actual measurements. The final, itemised estimate is prepared after the site visit.

Can I swap, add or remove items in a package?

Yes. Any item can be swapped, upgraded or removed, and you can mix tiers room by room. The itemised estimate shows the effect of each change before you decide.

Is civil and electrical work included?

No. Wall changes, flooring, plumbing and electrical rewiring are quoted separately because they depend entirely on the condition of the home. Our own site team handles them, so you can add them to the same project. See our civil and electrical work service for what that covers.

Which package should I choose?

Choose Essential if you mainly need the core woodwork and will furnish the rest yourself. Signature suits families who want every room properly planned, which is why we mark it Recommended. Luxe is for a home you want finished and ready to move into, with ceilings, paint, lighting and furnishing included.

What about a 4 BHK flat or a villa?

These are priced as a custom quote. The scope varies too much from home to home for a fixed starting price. Share the plan and your priorities, and we will quote after the site visit.

Are appliances included?

Only the chimney and hob in the kitchen. Other appliances, mattresses and loose décor beyond the listed items are not part of a package.

Can I book just a kitchen or wardrobes instead of a package?

Yes. A package is for the whole home, but each service can be booked on its own. Start from our services page or tell us what you need and we will price only that.

Process and timelines

What happens at each step, from the first call to handover.

Do I need to hire you for every step?

No. You can book a single service, such as a modular kitchen or wardrobes, or hand us the whole home. The steps are the same either way: we measure, design, agree an estimate and then build.

What happens during the site visit?

We measure every room and check the walls, ceilings, light, plumbing and electrical points. These measurements are used for the design and the estimate. You do not need to prepare anything except access to the home.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the scope. A single room is quicker than a whole home. Once we have measured the space and agreed the work, we fix a timeline with you upfront and track it through every stage.

Is the estimate final?

The itemised estimate is agreed before work begins. If you ask for a change later, we explain what it means for the cost and the timeline before we go ahead.

What should I bring to the first consultation?

Nothing is required. A floor plan, photos of the rooms, pictures you have saved for ideas and a rough budget all help, but we can start with a conversation.

Modular kitchens

Which kitchen layout is best for a small flat?

L-shaped and straight layouts suit most compact flats because they keep a wall or a corner free. A parallel layout can work well in a long, narrow room. The right choice depends on where the door, window and plumbing sit, so we confirm it at the site visit.

What is the standard counter height in a kitchen?

850 to 900 mm is common. If the person who cooks most is noticeably taller or shorter, we adjust the height so that chopping and washing are comfortable.

Which material is best for kitchen cabinets?

For the carcass, a moisture-resistant board such as BWR plywood or HDHMR is a sensible choice. The shutter finish is a matter of look and upkeep: laminate, acrylic, PU paint and glass each have a place. We explain the trade-offs against your budget.

Can you plan around my chimney, hob or other appliances?

Yes. Share the models or sizes and we plan the cut-outs, clearances and power points for them in the layout.

How much does a modular kitchen cost?

It depends on the size, layout, materials, hardware and appliances, so we do not quote a figure without seeing the space. After the site visit you receive a clear, itemised estimate. For indicative whole-home prices, see the packages page.

Do you handle plumbing, tiling and electrical changes?

Yes. Our own site team handles wall changes, flooring, plumbing and rewiring, and coordinates them with the kitchen so the work happens in the right order.

Can I see the kitchen before it is made?

Yes. We prepare a 3D view so you can check the layout, colours and finishes before production starts.

How long does a modular kitchen take?

It depends on the scope: layout changes, tiling and electrical work, and the finishes chosen. We agree a fixed timeline upfront and track it through every stage.

Wardrobes and storage

Sliding or hinged wardrobe: which is better?

Sliding doors save swing space and suit small rooms, but only part of the wardrobe is open at a time. Hinged doors open the full width and give a wider choice of shutter styles but need clear floor in front. The right choice depends on your room.

Which wardrobe shutter lasts longest?

High-pressure laminate on a good board is among the most durable, as it resists scratches, moisture and everyday wear. Acrylic looks seamless but shows marks, veneer needs more care and PU paint can chip. The edge sealing and the hardware matter as much as the surface.

What is the best material for a wardrobe carcass?

Good plywood is a sound choice. In damp areas, such as next to a balcony or outer wall, use a moisture-resistant board such as BWR plywood. Particle boards are weaker around screws and moisture.

What is the standard size of a wardrobe?

Depth is typically about 600 mm. Height runs to 2,100 mm or to the ceiling with a loft above. Width depends on the wall, and shutters are commonly 450 to 1,000 mm wide, depending on the type.

How much hanging space do I need?

About 1,200 mm of height for long garments such as sarees, kurtas and coats, and about 900 mm for shirts and trousers. Shelves, drawers and a loft take care of everything else.

Can you build a wardrobe up to the ceiling?

Yes. A floor-to-ceiling unit with a loft makes the best use of the wall. We plan the loft with a reachable height and use the top for items you need only a few times a year.

How do I stop a wardrobe from smelling in the monsoon?

Use a moisture-resistant board, leave a small gap from outer walls, add ventilation slots and keep silica or neem sachets inside. Avoid packing damp clothes.

How much does a wardrobe cost?

It depends on the size, the shutter type, the board and the internal fittings. We give an itemised estimate after the site visit, and the packages page shows indicative starting prices for whole homes.

Ceilings and lighting

Is gypsum or POP better for false ceilings?

For most flats, gypsum board is the more practical choice: it goes up faster, gives an even finish and makes less mess. POP suits curved, moulded or custom detailing that is shaped on site. In damp areas neither is ideal unless a moisture-resistant board is used. Our gypsum vs POP page compares them in detail.

How much height does a false ceiling take away?

A flat ceiling hung close to the slab takes about 75 to 100 mm. A cove or a step needs more, often 100 to 150 mm or beyond. If your home has low ceilings, we keep the ceiling simple and let lighting do the work.

Is a false ceiling necessary in every room?

No. It helps to hide wiring and AC pipes, add cove lighting and improve acoustics. In a room with a good slab finish and no services to hide, a painted ceiling with well-placed lights can look better and keeps the height.

What colour of light is best for a home?

Warm white, around 2700 to 3000K, for living rooms and bedrooms. Neutral white, around 4000K, for kitchens, study areas and dressing spaces. We select one temperature per room so the light feels consistent.

Can I have a false ceiling if I have an air conditioner?

Yes. The ceiling is planned around the unit: a split AC needs pipe routes, a cassette or ducted unit needs space and an access panel for servicing. Tell us your AC plan at the start so it is built into the framework.

Do false ceilings crack?

Hairline cracks appear mainly at board joints when the framework is loose, the joints are not taped or the ceiling spans a large area without movement joints. A well-fixed grid, taped joints and sensible joint layout reduce the risk.

Can ceilings be used in kitchens and bathrooms?

With care. Use moisture-resistant boards or a PVC or metal ceiling in wet zones, and keep light fittings rated for damp areas. Plain POP in a bathroom is likely to stain over time.

Do you handle the wiring and painting as well?

Yes. Our own site team does the framework, wiring, finishing and painting, and the light fittings are tested before handover. The work is sequenced so that dust-heavy jobs finish before painting starts.

Civil, electrical, painting and metalwork

Do I need to rewire an old flat before interiors?

Not always, but check it. Wiring that is several decades old, has no earthing, uses undersized wire or shows burnt switches is worth replacing before new cabinets and ceilings cover it. We inspect the wiring at the site visit and tell you what we find.

Can any wall be removed to open up the home?

No. Partition walls are usually non-structural and can be removed or moved, but load-bearing walls, columns and beams carry the building. We tell you which is which and recommend a structural engineer's opinion before touching anything structural.

Do I need my society's permission for civil work?

Most societies require permission for wall changes, plumbing alterations and heavy work, and set rules for working hours, lift use and debris. Ask your society office early. We plan the schedule around its rules.

Why is waterproofing important in bathrooms?

Water finds the smallest gap. Without a waterproof layer under the tiles, moisture reaches the slab, shows up as damp on the ceiling below and damages the wall behind the fittings. Coating, curing and a water test before tiling prevents it.

What type of wire is used for home wiring?

Concealed copper wiring in conduit is the usual standard, with the wire size matched to the circuit's load. Air conditioners, geysers and kitchen appliances should have their own circuits and breakers.

Can you plan the sockets and switches with my furniture?

Yes. We mark points on the same plan as the furniture, so bedside, study table, TV unit and kitchen counter sockets sit where you will use them.

Is civil work needed in every interior project?

No. If the walls, floors and wiring are sound and your layout stays the same, the work may be limited to repairs and a few new points. We tell you what is needed after the site inspection and keep it separate in the estimate.

Who does the work, your team or contractors?

Our own site team handles civil and electrical work, and coordinates it with design, carpentry and painting, so you deal with one team.

Rooms and whole-home projects

What does a complete home interior package include?

It covers the woodwork for each room, such as the kitchen, wardrobes, TV unit and beds, and, at higher levels, ceilings, lighting, painting and décor. The packages page lists exactly what each level includes, and we confirm the scope in your itemised estimate.

What is the difference between a 2BHK essential and full interior package?

The Essential package covers the core woodwork: a shoe cabinet, TV unit, hinged wardrobes and beds with headboards, and a modular kitchen with chimney and hob. A fuller package adds detailed woodwork such as a pooja unit, dining set, dressing unit and study tables, and the top level adds false ceilings, painting, panelling, wallpaper, curtains and loose furniture.

Should I do the whole home at once or room by room?

Doing it together is usually more efficient, avoids repeated disruption and gives a more consistent result. If your budget needs staging, we can plan the whole home and execute it in phases, starting with the kitchen and wardrobes.

Can I move in before the work is finished?

It is much easier to work in an empty home, and dust, noise and moved furniture slow everything down. For a lived-in home we plan the work room by room so you can keep part of the house usable.

Do you handle civil, plumbing and electrical work?

Yes. Our own site team handles wall changes, flooring, plumbing and rewiring, and coordinates them with the woodwork so each trade works in the right order.

How much does a complete home interior cost?

It depends on the size of the home, the materials and the scope, so we do not quote a figure without seeing the space. The packages page shows indicative starting prices, and after the site visit you receive an itemised estimate.

Can I choose my own colours and materials?

Yes. We shortlist options within your budget and show samples at the material selection stage. You approve the finishes before production begins.

Do I need to be at home during the work?

You do not need to be on site every day. We share regular updates, and key decisions such as finishes and layout changes are confirmed with you before they happen.

Pune and Mumbai

Planning notes for each city: climate, building types and society rules.

Which parts of Pune do you work in?

We currently take projects across Pune and Mumbai. Tell us where the home is when you enquire and we will confirm the site visit. We do not list areas on this page because we accept projects one at a time.

Can you design a new-possession flat from the bare shell?

Yes. This is where planning matters most. We set the electrical points, ceiling heights, kitchen layout and storage before furniture goes in, then handle the civil, carpentry, painting and finishing as one project.

Do you take only a kitchen or wardrobes in Pune?

Yes. You can book a single service such as a modular kitchen, wardrobes, a false ceiling or a living room, or hand us the whole home.

How does the monsoon affect an interior project?

Humidity affects wood, paint, polish and adhesives. We plan wet jobs such as painting for drier conditions where we can, protect materials on site and tell you when a stage is better postponed. Moisture-resistant boards and sealed edges reduce the risk in finished work.

What materials do you suggest for Pune's climate?

Moisture-resistant boards for the kitchen and for woodwork near external walls, good-quality laminates with sealed edges, and fittings that resist rust near the kitchen and balconies. We explain the options at the material selection stage so you can choose with the cost in front of you.

What does a home interior cost in Pune?

It depends on the size of the home, the scope and the finishes. Our packages show starting prices in lakh for 1, 2 and 3 BHK homes. After the site visit you receive an itemised estimate with no hidden costs.

Do you work on bungalows and independent houses?

Yes. These are larger projects with staircases, terraces and several floors, so we quote them individually after a site visit.

Do I need permission from my housing society?

Societies set their own rules on work hours, lift use and the movement of materials. Check with your society office before work starts and share the rules with us, so we can build the schedule around them.
